its funny seeing this because so many people being touched by his loss... i guess when you never kill off characters it does become a big deal when one ties... untill one dies trying to take out a villain and the villain survives because of BS. but yea i felt nothing for aces death. by the time i got to it i forgot all about his VERY minor appearance earlier on. then we get the flash back later about luffy and aces child hood which would have given much more weight to the loss at marine forward... and all those stroking odas pole over this anime and im like.... yea this is just bad writting. you give character development and backstory for someone AFTER their emotionless death? yea i guess because maybe in retrospect they realized.... oh... its a big deal to luffy but our audience probably doesnt give 2Fs. its kinda like garp..... im at episode 1070 and every says how amazing garp is and im sitting here waiting for that amazing garp moment. hes been a very minor side character. if anything his role and character have been elevated by the live action and how early they introduced him compared to the anime
